What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session in Little Rock
Deciding to start therapy is a big step. For many people, the hardest part isn't the first session itself. It's not knowing what will happen when they walk in. If you've been thinking about reaching out, here's what your first visit with The Sovereign Collective looks like.
It starts with a free consultation
Before you ever come to the office, we begin with a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. It's a chance to ask questions, share a little about what's going on, and see whether we're a good fit. There's no obligation, and you don't need to have the right words figured out.
We take care of the insurance questions
We accept Arkansas Medicaid, most major insurance plans (including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, TRICARE, and Optum), and many Employee Assistance Programs. Before your first session, we verify your benefits so you know what to expect. If you have EAP benefits through your employer, you may have a set number of sessions at no out-of-pocket cost.
Your first session is about getting to know you
The first appointment is a conversation, not a test. We'll talk about what brought you in, what your life looks like right now, and what you hope might feel different. You decide how much to share and at what pace. Some people come in with a clear goal; others simply know something needs to change. Both are welcome.
What you can count on
A private, calm setting in our office at 415 N McKinley St, Suite 465B, Little Rock
Honest communication and clear information about how therapy works
Care shaped around you and your story, not a one-size-fits-all approach
Respect for your history, your culture, and your circumstances
You don't have to have it all figured out
Whether you're dealing with grief, trauma, anxiety, burnout, family stress, or a major life change, reaching out is enough of a start. The rest we'll figure out together.
